Dallas Cowboys
Dallas’s wide receiver by committee strategy failed miserably over the first half of the season as the Cowboys rank 28th in the league in passing touchdowns with eight and 29th in passing yards per game with 183.
Despite owning a pedestrian 3-4 SU and 3-4 ATS record heading into their bye week, the Cowboys were buyers at the trade deadline as they traded their first round pick to the Oakland Raiders to grab a No. 1 wide receiver in Amari Cooper. The Cowboys are hoping that a legitimate deep threat will open up the offense and make Dallas a threat in the NFC East.
Since 2005, the Cowboys are 9-4 SU and 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games coming out of their bye week.
Tennessee Titans
Tennessee appeared to be firmly in the hunt for the AFC South title when it ended the month of September on a 3-0 SU and ATS run with upset wins over Houston, Jacksonville and Philadelphia. But over a disappointing three games in October the Titans averaged only 10.3 points per game and went 0-3 SU and 1-2 ATS.
The Titans are one of the few teams in the NFL with an even more feeble passing attack than the Cowboys as they rank 30th in passing yards per game with 166 and 31st in passing touchdowns with five.
Monday night’s total is set at 40 points. The UNDER is 9-2 in Dallas’s last 11 games per the OddsShark NFL Database.
A battle between two of the league’s most pitiful passing attacks isn’t the most exciting encore to the Tom Brady vs. Aaron Rodgers matchup on Sunday night. Still, with the AFC South and NFC East still within grasp, both of these teams would love to get back to .500 with a win and try to enter the second half of the season with some momentum.
