Taco Bell’s World Series promotion gets cashed in as early as possible.

Each year for the past eleven seasons, Taco Bell has run a promotion that gives America free tacos if a member of either team playing in the World Series steals a base during any of the seven games. Red Sox star Mookie Betts gave the country free tacos as soon as he possibly could.

Betts, leading off for the Red Sox, singled into center and successfully stole second shortly after thanks to an off-the-mark throw from Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes. First batter for the home team, free tacos secured. The only reason we didn’t get confirmation of free tacos earlier is because the Dodgers lineup couldn’t get anything going in the first inning against Chris Sale.

“We said be aggressive early, trying to get a run across, and on top of that I just wanted some tacos,” Betts told the FOX postgame show after Game 1.

You can retrieve your free Doritos Locos Taco at Taco Bell on Thursday, November 1st between 2-6pm. If for some reason you’re tied up during four afternoon hours on a Wednesday you can get a taco voucher online and grab one any time during the day. That’s the day after a potential Game 7 would be played so you can get a taco to help you miss baseball season left. Not sure if that would work exactly but it’s as good a reason as any to get a free taco.

This is the seventh time a baseball player has given the country free tacos during the World Series. Betts joins Cameron Maybin (2017), Francisco Lindor (2016), Lorenzo Cain (2015), Ángel Pagán (2012), Jason Bartlett (2008), and Jacoby Ellsbury (2007) in accomplishing the feat.
